Now how did this happen?

You see, I got myself involved in this little blog competition of sorts, which turned out to be a lot of fun. This is really the sort of thing I would do over at Bird's Eye View, but I thought, "why should Radical Centrist be so damn serious?" I figured it would be a one week little lark and then back to dissecting the political world, but then the unexpected happened! Through some combination of arcane rules and bonus points this blog was named "King of the Blogs" for the week. (Now close your mouth, you look foolish sitting there with your jaw dropped like that!)

Besides the unique honor of displaying the Crown in my sidebar, I get to defend my position for another week. So let's review the drill again, shall we? First, you follow this link to the official King of the Blogs site to cast a vote for Radical Centrist. If you are moved to toss some publicity to the contest, you can write about it in your blog and trackback to the contest page Just be sure to mention Radical Centrist. That earns me some bonus pints too. (Oops! I meant "points" but perhaps my fingers are trying to tell me something. A bonus pint would be very nice right about now.)

"Explain the Theory of Blogativity"

The judges have asked that the response be "absurd" which is very fortunately a personal specialty. Furthermore I find that when writing about the blogosphere, absurdity comes pretty naturally.

I also understand that it helps to pander to the judges with gratuitous links like this one to Bad Example, this link to News From the Great Beyond, and this link to SmarterCop. I, of course, would never stoop so low as to pander to the judges, or even the contest commissioner, King of Fools.

As your new King, I want to close by urging you all to remember to give credit to the guy you steal from, spread your links liberally (even you conservatives!), and please, my good people, Beware the Dangers of Weight Training!
